Hi Ann Marie and all;
The lack of response to this Idea of entering the world of the Oregon
White Oak forest through a screen saver/slide show makes me think that
maybe its not the birders, who already have the birds, who need it but
the non-birders. All I know is everyone (all non- birders) who watched
the slideshow so far responded with sighs and brushing tears away.
Since I created this work, simply to satisfy my own love of nature, I
was surprised to get this response from people and now feel committed
to filling the need people seem to have to get in touch with nature.
(These images are not even spectacular natural scenes! Maybe this is
why it touches people- so much in the modern world is overly
spectacular.) So many people are caught up in the grueling life of the
city they forget these simple beauties exit. Andy Goldsworthy's comment
in the movie Rivers and Tides is very interesting. He says "Nature does
not need me but I need it."
