There was a male pintail on the Central Pond at the Fill this afternoon, along with 8 or 10 pairs of green winged teal, and a few ruddy ducks and shovelers.

Three bald eagles soared over Union Bay. A ruby-crowned kinglet flashed me. The hooded mergansers were still close in on the east side, and I found some common mergansers further out. They were feeding loon-style, sticking their faces in the water every few feet and paddling continuously. It was a wonderful day at the Fill.
