**For those who have inquired and/or those who might be interested, here is
the short version of the results of the 2004 Bellingham CBC. The count was held
on 19 December.

We had 58 observers, in 24 parties, and observed 128 species on Count Day,
plus two additional species during the Count Period. Individual birds totaled
100,002.

Dabbling duck and gull numbers were high, while the numbers of diving ducks,
loons, grebes, shorebirds, and owls were notably low. Northern Pintail and
American Wigeon led the cast of countable characters with 16,255 and 15,509
individuals, respectively.
We added two new species with five Cackling Geese and a lone White Pelican.

It was a bit windy at times, but with high temps for the day reaching into
the low 50s, who could complain?
