Subject: [Tweeters] Reminder -- Water for birds and wildlife during cold snap

The current cold snap in the Puget Sound area (temperatures in the 20s
at night) means that much of the water that is usually naturally
available to birds and other wildlife during our wet winters is now
frozen solid. I put a bowl of water out this morning (having retired my
birdbaths for the rainy season), and our two resident crows were
drinking from it within a minute or two. So unless you're a die-hard
nature's-course type, please consider maintaining an unfrozen water
source for wildlife until we warm up to more normal (for this area)
temperatures. And thanks to all of you who already do so!

Happy 2005,
