The Tufted Duck is still at Phantom Lake in SE Bellevue. I saw it from
0830-0845 this morning. It was actively diving with a number of Bufflehead
along the north shore about halfway along the shoreline as seen from the
public access viewing deck. After a walk in the Lake Hills Greenbelt, I
stopped there again at 1045 and the duck was actively diving about 100
yards straight out from the deck. Phantom Lake is about 63 acres and was
still open, but the with the cold weather predicted it could freeze over.
So it would be good to get there as soon as possible. Larsen Lake which is
about a mile away and only 9 acres was completely frozen over this morning.
