I missed Marv Breece as well as the tufted duck at Phantom Lake; I tried the
west & northeast access areas and had no luck around 2-330 today. But thanks
to all who have posted about it, Phantom Lake is not one of my usual birding
areas. It was nice seeing hooded & common mergansers, two pied billed
grebes, a green winged teal, a red tail, a few ring necked ducks, gadwall,
wigeons, and buffleheads. No one that I spoke to had seen the tufted duck
today, out of about 6 people.
