The new policy from NAS is that all details for rare and unusual
species should be sent directly to me.

And there are a couple things that you all should know. If you
mark a species as unusual, the system will warn you about the
possible need for details. If you add Rock Pigeon or Wilson's
Snipe (name changes), the system will mark them as unusual and
warn you about possibly needing details.

If you don't mean them to be unusual, uncheck the "unusual" box.
If you mean them to be unusual, but are unsure whether they require
details, check the FAQ.

Barred Owl for example, may be unusual, but I don't need details.
As a compiler, you may ask for details ON ANY SPECIES you think
needs them above and beyond what I ask for. It's your count and
your records and I hope all participants will be cooperative.

I can take written details and photos by email or snail-mail.
Details should include an actual description of the bird even
though space for that is not included on the "official" form
provided by Audubon....
