Today at sunset the male TUFTED DUCK of Phantom Lake was still at the NE
cove where Marve Breece found it at 2:30. Someone has lengthened and
widened a little trail into the blackberries at the very south end of
the NE park. You can now see around the corner to the east well enough
so you probably don't need to go down 117.

I'm finding this Duck half the time I look for it. When they show up on
the West Coast in the winter it's most often on some small fresh water
lake or pond and they stay put for a couple months. When he's not on
Phantom Lake I wonder where he is. Yesterday I did the short hike into
Tradition Lake on NW Tiger Mt. to see if it might be there. The Lake
was frozen solid.
