Hi Tweeters,
For the past 2 days we have had a flock of 12 or more Varied Thrush in our yard and along the road foraging in the grass and in the gravel. It is really cool to see so many at one time. They just dip their beaks in the grass quickly. What exactly would they be eating? They are so timid, the minute they know we are watching them they spook. They seem to be hiding in the trees when they are not foraging. My husband said he saw 20 of them one day earlier this winter. I missed that and they have not come back in force until this week.
