Hi Tweeters,

The Redheads are still hanging out around Sakuma
Viewpoint Park. I saw up to 5 males and 2 females.
One view of subtle synchronized head movement display.
Hard to describe, a very stylized short nod. Eagle
suspicion from last week panned out. 3 eagles this
week, 2 adult, one immature. The immature was
harassed by a gull who acted like it wanted to land on
the eagles back. No wonder they end up as meals...
Great week for raptors. Also great week for
mergansers. Ann Marie Wood joined me for lunch walk
on Wednesday and we saw the Red-breasted Merganser
male that has been reported. Ann Marie is a great
scaup identifier and apparently there are far more
Greater Scaup around than I thought! Nice to show her
around. No cooperative Orange-crowned Warbler for her
though. They are toughies and one of last common area
birds for me to get a good enough look at to say, yeah
that is what it really is.
