Subject: [Tweeters] I Wish It Were a Joke:

Hi Joe,

As an American ex-pat, who used to live mere blocks from this site in Olympia, I found it more than a little ironic and distatsteful to have some dingbat screaming that you should "go home" because you are a driving a car with BC plates.
Is this the type of treatment Americans receive when they come up to Vancouver to see the McKay's Bunting? Having stood on the Iona Jetty two days in the last month, and having met some wonderful birders from all over the continent, I know that it is not, and that nobody up here would tolerate a fellow birder acting that way.
It was absolutely disgraceful behavior. How do I apologize to my Canadian friends who I talked into driving down to see this bird?

sincerely,

Guy L. Monty
