Dear Tweets,

The "incident" has provoked many strong feelings. Perhaps we have heard
enough of them now and can get back to birds and birding? We pride ourselves
on being a civil community. Please, let's learn from this -- about
ourselves as much as about those whose behavior we cannot condone -- and
move on before an unfortunate, annoying incident becomes a tragedy. Everyone
will gain from understanding and forgiveness.
