I'll consider myself lucky since today was the first day I ventured down to
Olympia to see the bird. Dee and I arrived around 10:30 and within 30
minutes we had distant scope views of the bird. After hanging around in the
general vicinity where we first saw the birds (sorry I forgot to note the
exact location), we managed to get three very good unobscured scope views
and a few very backlit photos which I probably won't post since there have
been so many beautiful pictures taken. We parked the car at 4th and Rogers
and the location where we saw the bird was about 3-4 blocks NE of that
location. We were in an alley east (I believe) after the bird had surfaced
on the corner of 6th. Hopefully someone else will give better directions.
It was raining while we were there. Another life bird :).....Thanks to
Patrick Sullivan for use of his scope and as usual great spotting.

We also got magnificent views of two red-breasted sapsuckers.
