After I sent my last message about the purported Gadwall x Falcated
Teal at the Kent ponds, I looked up "Brewer's Duck" on the web. That's
the name given to hybrids between Mallard and Gadwall. In fact, that
must be exactly what Keith Brady's photo shows, so perhaps that's not
the bird that was considered a Gadwall/Falcated hybrid? Steve M. told
me there was a Gadwall x Mallard hybrid there also. I wonder if there's
some confusion (or is it only me?).
