A woman called the East L. WA Audubon office today about a large white
egret seen on her beach at L. Sammamish. The phone number was referred to
me to contact her. She said the bird was smaller than a Great Blue Heron
and had a yellow bill. I told her it probably was a Great Egret. She had
seen it on Sun. and Mon., but had not seen it today, Tuesday. I asked her
to call me if she saw the bird again. She lives at 485 E. Lake Sammamish
Parkway SE which would be about one mile south of the Inglewood Hill Road
intersection. Apparently, you would not be able to see the bird from the
parkway near where she lives. I wanted to alert anyone living on, or
driving along, Lake Sammamish to keep an eye out for this bird.
