Hello Tweets and other birders(specifically out-of-state birders),

The Redwing was observed today beginning at 11:12am,as 5 of us watched the bird at the corner of Percival Street and Garfield Ave.(north of Harrison Ave.). We again helped out-of-state birders to look for the bird who contacted us privately,as a courtesy. The bird remained at this location for almost 10 minutes with several Am.Robins, before flying off in a southwesterly direction. This sighting occurred after nearly a 4 hour absence,as several of us walked and drove the side streets and alleyways. At 11:28am the Redwing was again relocated and viewed in a large deciduous tree along Decatur Street between 6th and 7th Ave.,then the bird flew and was observed at the corner of 6th Ave. and Cushing Street at 11:40am. The bird remained at this location until 12pm,then flew on it's own with several Am.Robins towards 4th Ave. The Am.Robins flocks today were very few and scattered and the key was trying to find them in search of the Redwing. A single adult Cooper's Hawk,Sharp-shinned Hawk and a Merlin in the immediate area kept the birds rather "jumpy" at times and nervous. Up to 8 people observed the Redwing today before 12pm,including birders from Washington,California, and Montana. Other species of note in the immediate area included a few small scattered flocks of flyover Dunlin, 1 Red-breasted Sapsucker, and 4-5 Western Scrub Jays.

Good Redwing searching,
