I remember when my grandson was about 5 years old and we went to a very
special place SW of Port Orchard, Ruby Creek Marsh. He was carrying my "heavier"
pair of binoculars around his neck and put them up and just stopped dead and
stood there going OH AH OH. I asked him what he was looking at and he
pointed to a Red-winged Blackbird that he saw. He was enthralled with that bird
and told everyone about it. What a thrill it was for me to see that bird
through the eyes of a 5 year old. It was a magical day for both of us.
