Subject: [Tweeters] Green Heron capturing a bird

I was in Florida for the last several days. While at Shark Valley in the
northern part of Everglades National Park I observed a Green Heron with a
struggling small bird in its beak. I didn't actually see the capture but
presume it had just occurred. Before I could get a photo, it sneaked back
in the underbrush, out of sight. I have checked the Birds of North America
account (#129) and find no mention of avian prey for the Green Heron. Have
others observed this? Incidentally the prey item was almost cerainly a
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher.
