On January 10, a HARRIS'S SPARROW appeared at the feeders at Bill and Nancy
LaFramboise's Richland yard. It has been seen on most days since then for
at least a brief appearance.

On January 20, Dennis Rockwell and Nancy LaFramboise observed a first-year
GLAUCOUS GULL and a MEW GULL at Two Rivers Park in Kennewick. There was
also a first-year GLAUCOUS GULL on the ice west of Bateman Island on
January 22.

Bill and Nancy LaFramboise found a EURASIAN WIGEON at the Family Fishing
Pond in Columbia Park on the 22nd. They found an EARED GREBE and a RUDDY
DUCK off Bateman Island on the 23rd.

On January 23, Tom Clarke reported a BURROWING OWL near Red Mountain
between West Richland and Benton City.

Today (January 24) the WHITE-THROATED SPARROW that has been in Groves Park
in Richland south of the Newcomer parking area was seen again today after a
long absence. There was also 1 BOHEMIAN WAXWING among a flock of about 75
Cedar Waxwings along Harris Street between Snyder and Spengler. There were
Pine Siskins nearby.

The February Feathered Fun event sponsored by LCBAS will be held on
February 5. Join us on the regularly scheduled Bateman Island Walk at 8
am. Then at 1 pm, come see the film Watching Warblers at the Battelle
Auditorium. For a $5 donation you will see all of the eastern warblers
filmed by award winning photographers Judy Fieth and Michael
Male. Following the show, enjoy some goodies and visit with birders from
our area. Watching Warbler DVD's will be available for purchase for
$39.95. Proceeds from the sales will support the making of Watching
