I found a Northern Saw-whet Owl perched in a Red Elderberry this morning
(Coupeville, Whidbey Island). It would have gone unnoticed if the kinglets,
juncos, and chickadees hadn't been making such a fuss.
On another topic we've had a Salmonberry bush blooming off and on since
right before Christmas and have an Osoberry or Indian Plum that is unfurling
it's leaves. The latter is almost a month ahead of schedule. Yikes!
