Dear Tweeters,

Reference was made to a single-person observation of a
Dusky Thrush in Skagit County a few years ago. As I
understand it, it was a bird that showed up in the
yard of a knowledgeable birder in Mount Vernon. I
believe the birder made good sketches, but took no
photos. The birder later submitted the details, the
sighting ultimately being accepted by the state
committee. From what I have heard, the bird never
showed up again; I don't believe it was so much a
hush-hush situation on the birder's part--it was just
a bird that popped up and then disappeared.
