As advertised, the Eurasian Green-winged Teal was in the pond behind the
Residence Inn in Bothell, and he was not accepting visitors...

It was overcast, dark, and a bit damp with spotty drizzle, and our guest was
not in the habit of joining the AGWTs out in the middle of the pond; he
preferred to stay fairly close to shore, or worse, among the reeds along the
western end of the pond...

HOWEVER, your intrepid (and far too stupid from time to time) photographer
was able to get a few photos... You will currently find him on the Park
Gallery website listed below, in Photo of the Week (which is more like
Photos of the Month at the moment)...

Also seen while gallavanting all over the north end of Lake Washington were
several dozen Common Merganser males (and a few of their consorts),
approximately 30-40 Western Grebes, 5 Horned Grebes, no fewer than 60
Double-Crested Cormorants, and close to 1000 American Coots... I hadn't
seen but a handful of AMCOs at JBP recently, and was thinking to myself I
knew why now.

Until I visited JBP some 30 minutes later and found at least 500 in the bay,
all rafting rather tightly...

The rest of the website will be updated to reflect our new friend (and
others seen during January) by Sunday...
