Subject: [Tweeters] Gull Question

For the last few mornings ther has been a gull that I am having a very hard time IDing.

It looks like a mature California Gull. EXCEPT, the black spot on the bill is very small and only in the lower half of the bill, the red spot being larger. It has drab yellowish-pink colored legs...not greenish yellow. It doesn't have quite as much head streaking as what is shown for a winter adult California Gull. It does have a dark iris.

Help!

I have been looking through Gulls of North America, Europe, and Asia, to help with my gull ID skills, but I am still not finding this exact combo.

Anyone care to solve the mystery? Or maybe it's just a mystery to me!
