In my recent report I mentioned having all three colors of house finch at my feeder. I saw in my ID book that this is suppoised to be due to difference in diet. Can anyone give further details on this? What would they be eating that would cause the different colors? How common is it to see Red, Orange, and Yellow variants in one area? Etc...
