Hello Tweets;
Lately it has been so refreshing reading the posts of local
naturalists! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. I feel
like I have located long lost family. Like you I get focused on all the
little details of nature- birds and mammals, trees and wildflowers,
snakes and butterflies and yes rocks all capturing my attention. (I am
curious what you do with all the things you collect in jars?) Lately I
have been fascinated by the Western Gray squirrels seen in the mixed
oak forests of Klickitat County. They were once very common here,
according to the old-timers, and are beginning to make a comeback. I
have started documenting my observations of them and mapping thier
territories. Does anyone know of any tapes or CDs that record the
various calls of this species?
Thanks;
Joy Stickney-Markgraf
