Hello All,
Today eight of us from Walla Walla decided to head north to the Potholes-Moses Lake area to look for Snowy Owls and other reported species. We left Walla Walla County under clearing skies and headed north to Grant Co.. Just north of Mesa the sky fell to earth and we entered a world of dense pea soup fog. We arrived at 2 S.E. and proceeded to drive the roads between 2-5 S.E. and M, L & K S.E.. The fog did not lift so we headed over to Potholes S.P. to search for Randy Hills Chestnut-backed Chickadee and the Mountain Chickadees.

We located 5 Golden - Crowned Kinglets, 4 Mountain Chickadees, 1 Brown Creeper, 3 Red-breasted Nuthatches and 1 Chestnut-backed Chickadee! Located by MerryLynn. This was a Grant Co. first for us. We returned to 4 & 5 S.E. to look for Snowy Owls, by then the fog had lifed a bit, but not so we could see any owls. We headed home and were very glad to have seen the great flock of mountain species at Potholes S.P..
