Tweets.

Not to one-up Connie's day at the Fill, but 4 OSPREY were soaring and
calling constantly to each other for about 20 minutes yesterday afternoon
over Juanita. They stayed in fairly tight formation, and finally headed
east, never ceasing the chatter. Are the kids learning the neighborhood and
all the good "restaurants?"

After my post of last week about the dearth of BELTED KINGFISHERS, a family
of 4 have been seen almost every day, with the kids getting lessons in
diving, and even how to land gracefully. They need to work on that. Also,
the first GREEN HERON of the year was spotted on Friday.

Also yesterday: singing RED-EYED VIREO and SWAINSON'S THRUSH; a brilliant
crimson PURPLE FINCH, a species not often seen at JBP; and a SONG SPARROW
feeding a hulking BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD.
