Greetings All

Birded Crockett today; spectacular am, without wind, sunny -- glorious. But
if I had not been there by 7am, it would have been a challenge. By 9, the heat
waves were cranked up.

Shorebirds
Killdeer 2
BB Plover 1
Semi Plover 8
Greater Yellowlegs 50
Whimbrel 1
RED KNOT (breeding plum) 1
Western Sandpiper 3000
Least Sandpiper 20
Semi Sandpiper 4
Long-billed Dow 75
Short-billed Dow 110

The dowitchers were tame and gave spectacular views for close-range study in
the ne. corner. As usual, Semi Sand number peaked early. On 2 July, the
Western:Semi ratio was about 50:1. Now almost 1000:1. There should be another bump
around 25 Jul to 1 Aug as the juvs arrive.

And thanks to Steve Ellis for the Western BB.

Cheers
