Hello All,
After spending most of yesterday setting in Tom Lamb's yard observing the
Broad-tailed Hummer along with Steve and Connie Pink and Michael Willison,
we decided to get out and bird the west end of the county today. We along
with Michael headed for the Walla Walla River delta and observed the
following species.............

Long-billed Curlew..........1 HYB
MARBLED GODWIT.....1 adult
Western Sandpiper...........187 ad. birds
Least Sandpiper................3 ad.
WESTERN GULL...........1 ad.( one to two now seen every summer in the Lower
Columbia Basin)
Bank Swallows................250+
Caspian Tern....................36 birds

Iowa beef/Tyson ponds

Am. Avocet............53 birds
Black-necked Stilt..15 birds
Long-billed Dowitchers..71 birds( these numbers normally do not show up
until late July in this region)
Western Sandpiper........80 birds
Wilson's Phalarope........4 birds
Red-necked Phalarope....1 bird
Lesser Yellowlegs...........2 birds
Least Sandpiper...............4 birds
Killdeer............................2 birds

NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD.........4 birds ( 2 ad., 2 juv.)
Bewicks Wren...............1 adult
Common Nighthawks...6 birds
Black-headed Grosbeak....3 birds
Bullocks Oriole.................4 birds
Sagebrush Lizard...............1 ad. female.
