Saturday, July 9th, sponsored in part by Wild Birds Unlimited, with stores

Sightings for Saturday, July 9:

On the Grant Narrows nature trail in Pitt Meadows, a LEAST FLYCATCHER was
heard but not seen near the trail entrance. Also nearby were 3 AMERICAN
REDSTARTS, a GRAY CATBIRD, and an EVENING GROSBEAK. Along
Rannie Road near the bend before the entrance to Grant Narrows were
2 GRAY CATBIRDS and an AMERICAN BITTERN.

In White Rock, a BROWN PELICAN was seen flying towards Beach Grove at 11
A.M..

Out of town news: a BOOBY sp. was seen from a whale-watching trip off
Bellingham, WA today.

The long-staying DICKCISSEL continues at Balmoral, 20 km north of Salmon
Arm, BC.


No reports for July 7 and July 8.


Sightings for Wednesday, July 6:

At Iona Island in Richmond, 3 PURPLE MARTINS were seen at the base
of the north jetty. Nearby a YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was present.


No reports for July 5.


Sightings for Monday, July 4

A flock of 15-20 BAND-TAILED PIGEONS were seen at Deer
Lake, Burnaby.
