On June 21 while driving up to my bird banding traps, at the junction of Spyglass Lane and Meacham Lane just east of Sequim, I observed an adult Common Grackle among a few Brewer's Blackbirds. The tail was much, much longer than that on a Brewer's and the bill was much stouter. It, however, had very little trace of gloss in the plumage. Got a good luck at with with my binocs at a distance of about 20 feet. To say the least I was very surprised to see this critter,

In succeeding days never saw it again.

Last time I saw a bird of this species was some 30 years ago when I was visiting kinfolk in my hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin where they are very common.
