Just got back into town last night from Ireland and after reading shorebird posts I bolted to McCain's/Para Ponds this morning. Nothing highly unusual. I did have 8 semiplamated sandpipers at McCain's and that is a good number. This is not a early date. The habitat looks very good and if that trend keeps up we will have a good year for shorebird sightings. The following are the shorebirds I noted.

least sandpiper 20
American avocet 5
killdeer 16
spotted sandpiper 6
semipalmated sandpiper 8
western sandpiper 13
long-billed dowitcher 83
black-necked stilt 55
Wilson's phalarope 19
semipalmated plover 1
lesser yellowlegs 1
greater yellowlegs 1

also seen

peregrine falcon 1
white pelican 56
Caspian tern 32

Good Birding, now to the lawn!
