I don't know how that bird knew I was headed his way. Didn't make it
to Gearhart, OR until 7:30 last night. There was only one other couple
from Alaska looking. I tracked down the three spots and checked them
each out twice before it got too dark to see. Saw lots of Semipalmated
Plovers. Slept in the vehicle on the beach north of the hot spot. Got
up at 5:45 and walked the beach all the way around and into the estuary.
Saw no Plovers on the beach but counted 126 Semis in the estuary.
Ended up behind the church and gave it up at 1:30 this afternoon.
There were about 15 other birders there, most of them from Oregon.

A post from the Oregon Birding list says no Plover as of 3:00 PM today.

If you go I hope you can do better.
