On July 16 a breeding plumaged MONGOLIAN PLOVER was seen at the mouth of the
Necanicum River in Gearhart. It later was found to fly between there and
nearby Stanley Lake across Hwy 101. It may still be in the area. A couple of
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS and a RUDDY TURNSTONE are also being seen there. A
female RUFF is now at Bandon Marsh NWR. The YELLOW-BILLED LOON continues to
be seen at Yaquina Bay.

Two CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRDS were seen July 19 at Saddle Mountain State Park
east of Seaside. On July 15 two FORSTER?S TERNS were at Smith Lake in North
Portland.

On July 17 a SAGE THRASHER was at Hosmer Lake south of Bachelor Butte. A
CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEE and two THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS are also in that
area. On July 15 a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH and a CATBIRD were where Hwy 58
crosses the Little Deschutes River.

That?s it for this week.
