This is the Vancouver Natural History Society's Rare Bird Alert for Monday,
July 25th, sponsored in part by Wild Birds Unlimited, with stores in

The featured bird is PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER.


Sightings for Monday, July 25:

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, the PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER
was again seen in the west field at high tide until 10 am. Also here were
2 WILSON'S PHALAROPES. 2 TURKEY VULTURES were seen flying
overhead.


Sightings for Sunday, July 24:

At Reifel, a PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was seen in the west field.
Also here were 3 WILSON'S PHALAROPES and an AMERICAN BITTERN.

At the Compensation Lagoon on the Tsawwassen jetty, Delta,
a MARBLED GODWIT was present. On the south side of the jetty
were 12 BLACK TURNSTONES and 3 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS.

In Surrey at 176th St and Fraser Dyke Road were 13 TURKEY VULTURES.

Sightings for Thursday, July 21:

At Minnekhada Regional Park in Coquitlam were 2 EASTERN KINGBIRDS.

At Como Lake in Coquitlam, 4 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were seen.


Sightings for Wednesday, July 20:

At the Compensation Lagoon, Tsawwassen were a MARBLED GODWIT,
700 CASPIAN TERNS, and 6 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS. Nearby along
Deltaport Way, a TURKEY VULTURE was present.
