Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday July 28. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On July 23 a RED-NECKED STINT was at the South Jetty of the Siuslaw River.
The Yaquina Bay YELLOW-BILLED LOON continues to be seen. On July 25
individual BROWN BOOBIES were reported from Seaside and 20 miles west of
Winchester Bay. Both indicated very worn plumages. There has been recent
BROWN BOOBY reports California and Washington.

An early BLACK TURNSTONE was seen July 21 at Bandon NWR. A STILT SANDPIPER
was at the North Spit of Coos Bay July 20. On July 24 three SEMIPALMATED
SANDPIPERS were on the North Spit and five were at Bandon. Large numbers of
anchovies are now in the Seaside area attracting swarms of gulls and other
fish eating birds. SABINE?S GULLS have been seen about the mouth of the
Necanicum River during the week.

On July 22 a BLACK PHOEBE was on Oak Island at Sauvie Island. Two SANDHILL
CRANES are now on the island. At least 15 GREAT EGRETS are now at Baskett
Slough NWR.

On July 22 a RUDDY TURNSTONE was at Summer Lake.
