Subject: [Tweeters] mallard or canadian goose or what?

On July 28, 29 I was flyfishing and floating the Methow river down from
Winthrop and saw an adult female mallard, an adult canadian goose and 3
juvenile deese? or gucks? or all together near the shore in the water. The 3
"young" were black with glints of irridescent neck feathers similar to a
male mallard, necks longer than a mallard, but not as long as the goose and
bodies larger than the female mallard but not quite as large as the goose.
Unfortunately I didn't have my camera available. Everyone has the picture,
right? Anyway I am wondering if anyone else has seen such a combination.
There were many juvenile Harlequin and Common Mergansers on the river also.
