Hi Tweeters,

My wife and I went to California for five days from July 21-25. We stayed
one night in Bolinas, which is about an hour north of San Francisco along
the coast. We spent two nights in Bodega Bay (the town, not the bay). I
have a folder on my website of photos taken on the trip, which
include: adult and juvenile Black Oystercatcher, adult and juvenile Pigeon
Guillemot, a Marbled Godwit with a decurved bill and many other shorebirds,
plus a 15-foot long Elephant Seal. Shorebirding was lots of fun on Bolinas
Bay and Bodega Bay. I saw 19 species of shorebirds for the trip, including
a very early American Golden-Plover at Bolinas Bay. I also saw my first
Elegant Tern, in a flock of over 1000.

The little town of Bolinas is a "must-see" if you are in that area. It is
a town that seems to have a very high percentage of hippies and is lots of
fun just to walk through. The B & B we stayed in was very nice. Robert
Redford stayed there two years ago!

Photos are in the California folder on my website.
