Took a couple of quick trips up to north Richland on both Saturday and
Sunday.

Saturday-on the Columbia behind the WA Dept. of Ecology Building:
2 bullocks orioles - one VERY orange and beautiful!
*5 forester's terns
8 black necked stilts (one with chicks)
yellow-headed blackbird
cinnamon teal
western kingbirds (everywhere!)
various swallows (didn't stop to id)
canada and cackling geese
and the usuals: killdeer, california quail, mourning doves, robin, mapgie,
raven, crow, coot, red wing blackbird, brewer's blackbird, mallards, ring
bill and california gulls, magpie

We also saw a pair of ring necked pheasants in field adjacent to WSU

Sunday we took a drive out Horn Rapids Road and saw:
meadowlark
western kingbirds (many!)
*common nighthawk
red wing and brewers blackbirds

And on the Columbia & shoreline at the same location as Saturday:
common merganser (male and female)
american white pelican
heron and egret nesting
black necked stilts (and chicks!)
4 bullock's orioles - all yellow
ring bill and california gulls
house sparrows
