Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 2. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On May 27 two COMMON MOORHENS were seen in the wetlands along Greenhouse
Lane south of Hines. They are still being seen. At Malheur NWR Headquarters
during the week a TENNESSEE WARBLER, a NORTHERN PARULA, a BLACK-AND-WHITE
WARBLER, and a probable SCARLET TANAGER and BELL?S VIREO were seen. A
GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was at Fields May 29. AMERICAN REDSTARTS were seen at
Headquarters, at Fields, and along Colony Creek south of Fields.
YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOOS were seen at Pike Creek north of Fields and along the
CPR north of the P Ranch. ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS were reported from Malheur
Headquarters, Fields, Colony Creek, Tumalo west of Bend, and at Manning
northwest of Portland.
On May 28 a HUDSONIAN GODWIT was seen near Canby. A male HOODED ORIOLE was
reported May 25 in Corvallis. On May 27 a male COMMON GRACKLE was in Bend.
On May 27 a CATBIRD was on the North Spit of Coos Bay. A LEACH?S
STORM-PETREL was seen May 30 off the North Jetty of Yaquina Bay. A NIGHTHAWK
was near Toledo May 26. On May 27 three GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES and a
CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD were seen on top of Saddle Mountain east of Seaside.
On May 27 a MOCKINGBIRD was in northeast Portland. A RED-EYED VIREO was at
Tryon State Park near Lake Oswego June 1. Fifteen WHITE PELICANS and 13
GREAT EGRETS were at Ankeny NWR May 29. A NIGHTHAWK was near Philomath May
30. On May 29 a GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE was on Skinners Butte in Eugene. A STILT
SANDPIPER was at Summer Lake May 27. A LEAST FLYCATCHER was seen May 30 at
Petric Park on Agency Lake north of Klamath Falls.
