Tweeters,

Walked to the beach this morning at Discovery Park in Seattle. Conditions
were good, 60s and little wind. Water was calm. I started at
the North parking lot area, walked along the North Beach to the lighthouse
and back. It was a very low tide and a lot of beach was exposed. Here are
the highlights:

Trail leading to North Beach
Orange-crowned warblers, Bush Tits
Heard Swainson's Thrush and Wilson's Warbler.

North Beach
Willow Flycatcher - heard
Surf Scoter - a lone female
Belted Kingfisher - pair
Band-tailed Pigeons

Lighthouse
Common Yellowthroat - heard just east of the fenced area
Caspian Terns
About six Pigeon Guillemots were about the only birds close in.
Distant scope views of a pair of Rhinoceros Auklets, about six Marbled
Murrelets and a Common Murre.
Later a Common Murre flew close by and back out to the middle of the
channel.
