Hi Tweeters;
Perhaps my experience, at 5:00 this morning in the gray dawn, of seeing
Common Nighthawks swoop and dive over 'my' pond and maneuver around
shrubs and buildings so close I could almost reach out and touch them
is more common than I realize but for me it was a once in a lifetime
magical moment. How amazing their flying skill, boomerang shape and
sporty white wing stripes. All my life I have been fascinated with them
swooping and booming so high up in the summer sky I could barely see
them with my 7x50 binoculars. This one close encounter is a bird moment
to remember!
