Tweets and inlanders,

Took a brief trip to Dixie today, stopping at the Iowa beef ponds en route.

Not much to report except a couple of highlights.

On the most southerly of the beef ponds there was one Franklin's Gull among
the flock of other gulls, no sign of any ibis.

On to Dixie, was at the hummingbird spot from about 1:30 to 2:30 this
afternoon. Saw the female Broad-tailed Hummingbird several times from 2:00
to 2:30 but took about 6 visits to finally see all the field marks to
confirm the sighting. The bird was especially exciting as that bird may wind
up being my state #400 pending a couple of birds that the committee has yet
to weigh in on.

A very nice afternoon despite a rainy start to the morning.
