Here's an excerpt from the article in the San Francisco Chronicle; use the

For the first time in nearly 70 years, the western bluebird is nesting in
San Francisco.

Super-birder Matt Zlatunich, a San Francisco firefighter, spotted a pair of
the plump electric-blue birds in February, perched on a telephone wire in
the Presidio, the center of a decade-long restoration of dunes and native
plants, a habitat favored by the species.

During the past months, he and other local birders in the Golden Gate
Audubon Society have kept an eye on the lone pair as they settled in a
Monterey cypress trunk cavity, a place they could call home. Now, both birds
are making food runs, possibly to feed five chicks the birders believe
probably hatched out two weeks ago. If they're right, the young birds will
start learning to fly in another week.
