Subject: [Tweeters] some interesting sightings in Skagit

Dear Tweeters,

Some interesting birds have turned up in Skagit County
recently.

A bird strongly resembling a Eurasian Collared Dove
visited a bird bath near Corkindale Creek near
Marblemount last week. It was seen only one time. A
pair of Eastern Kingbirds were seen in the same area,
the edges of the fields nearest the motel.

In Concrete (actually Grassmere, just to the west), a
male Black-chinned Hummingbird was photographed during
a two-day visit to a feeder. Unfortunately, the bird's
presence was not made known until days after its
disappearance. One of these birds was seen in Skagit
County about thirty years ago, and the Grassmere bird
might well be only the second county record.

Yours truly,

Gary Bletsch
