I've seen 4 bushtit nests destroyed by crows so far this year.

Yes, dive bombing crows have a nest nearby, and they can inflict
nasty cuts.

When I was in the Navy, I was sitting in the chapel garden on
Treasure Island in San Francisco bay and noticed that the crows
were attacking only the officers that walked by.
Usually swooping at their heads, but occasionally zooming lower
past their hands!

They did not attact enlisted men. Finally another officer dressed
in his winter uniform rather than summer
walked by and was not attacked. Ah ha! They were only attacking
people who wore white hats!
