Happenin" Herons of Washington
with David Drummond, Research Wildlife Biologist
Learn more about Seattle's official city bird, the Great Blue Heron, and all the members of the heron family that occur in Washington, such as Great Egret, American Bittern, Cattle Egret, Black-crowned Night Heron, and Green Heron. In this lecture and field trip, we will learn aspects of heron biology, ecology, habitat associations, behavior, and conservation status. Come discover the gaunt and giddy ways of herons alone and within the colony. Enjoy suberb visuals, handouts, and references in class and an afternoon field trip to a local heronry to round out your factual fun.
Class and Field Trip: Sunday, June 12, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Location: CUH, Douglasroom
Cost: $30 members, $45 nonmembers
Thanks!!!
