I'm looking for up to 20 advanced intermediate birders who are
available for a field trip into the Cedar River Watershed on Friday June
24. This trip is targeting individuals who are also be willing to
volunteer to assist CRW naturalists and biologists on future surveys
and other bird-related work in this habitat that is otherwise
inaccessible to the public.

On June 24, we'll meet at the Cedar River Watershed Education Center at
5:30 AM. From there we will be driven in vans to the upper Rex River
drainage (a tributary of the Cedar River), where we will bird the area.
It has been awhile since the area has been surveyed, and we'll be on the
lookout for several sensitive species. We'll return to the Education
Center by 4 PM. Participants will be expected to bring binocs, scopes,
food/beverage provisions, and normal clothing/shoes for a day long trip.


Our birding will be restricted to open forested roads and/or
decommissioned roads. Expect to walk cross-country to some wetlands.
While you can expect a little bushwhacking, our hiking will not be a
death march. Our goal is to have fun and explore this special
environment.

Although there is no fee for this field trip, we are interested in
participants who are willing to volunteer in the future. If you wish to
