Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 9. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.
On June 7 a WHITE-WINGED DOVE was in Newport. It did not remain. An adult
DICKCISSAL was seen June 8 along West Union Road east of North Plains. On
June 5 a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was at Pittock Mansion in Northwest
Portland. An INDIGO BUNTING was seen June 5 at the Denman Wildlife Area
north of Central Point. GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were reported during the week
from Malheur NWR Headquarters, Frenchglen, and Merrill.
On June 3 a FORSTER?S TERN was at Bybee Lake in North Portland. Both EASTERN
and WESTERN KINGBIRDS are apparently nesting again at the Sandy River Delta.
RED-EYED VIREOS are also there and at Virginia Lake on Sauvie Island. On
June 8 an EASTERN KINGBIRD was seen at Finley NWR.
A EURASIAN COLLARED DOVE has been at Malheur Headquarters all week. A
PLUMBEOUS VIREO was there June 7. On June 2 a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO was at
Fields.
