Down in Florida now but couldn't help noticing Gary's interesting report.
That Black-chinned would be just the third by my records for Skagit Co,
there was the May 21 bird long ago at a feeder in (? don't have my notes
with me) in Mt Vernon, and my Mt. Hardy bird (July 16 a few years ago in the
Rufous hordes attending the penstemon mats above the burn). The bird 30
years ago Gary--was it a late May bird?

No great rarities yet for FL, but this is the family Orlando section, day
#3. 60 species so far, just the usual but found 9 of the remaining
Budgerigars in Hernando Beach (about 75 miles west of Orlando) yesterday, at
Miami Springs on arrival day before yesterday I had 5 parakeet sp and a
territorial Yellow-crowned Parrot among others.

Dear Tweeters,

Some interesting birds have turned up in Skagit County
recently.

A bird strongly resembling a Eurasian Collared Dove
visited a bird bath near Corkindale Creek near
Marblemount last week. It was seen only one time. A
pair of Eastern Kingbirds were seen in the same area,
the edges of the fields nearest the motel.

In Concrete (actually Grassmere, just to the west), a
male Black-chinned Hummingbird was photographed during
a two-day visit to a feeder. Unfortunately, the bird's
presence was not made known until days after its
disappearance. One of these birds was seen in Skagit
County about thirty years ago, and the Grassmere bird
might well be only the second county record.

Yours truly,

Gary Bletsch
